A Sad Day.....

I think of how little my problems seem today....

South Korean student shot dead 32 people at a Virginia Tech University in the worst gun massace in United States history.

My prayers are with these students, professors, and families.

In the coming days, everyone is going to question....Why?

I don't know either. So sad.

There is a God, but someone better warn him about me

I was coming home from a Basketball game and decided to take the subway the other night. It was packed with people of all ages, race, and economic standing. As I was people watching, I noticed an elderly couple get on the train. I was already standing but was curious to see if anyone would get up to let them sit down. Tears came to my eyes as I watched....a mother with her son moving to make room, another rough and tired looking gentleman who seemed to be coming home from a long 9 hour work day stood up, another middle-aged mother offered her seat, and a young teenager offered his.

I thought to myself just when you give up hope in humanity, especially with all that you hear in the news, you can't help but believe there is a God and he works in mysterious ways. I still think people are inherently good.

With that said......my cats were running around at 4am and I could not get any rest last night. I yelled out loud, "God, why can't you give me peace!" I haven't slept great in days and it is wearing on me....

Like any relationship, I suppose we have our ups and downs. I like to think that I can bring my happy moments and even my worst moments to Him and he will let me vent. Yes, I'm a woman of faith. I don't go to church as much as I should, and no, I haven't read the entire Bible, but I believe in Him. I think that just a little faith goes a long way....

Moon and Stars

Bette Davis’s famous line from Now, Voyager takes on a fuller meaning: ‘Don’t let’s ask for the moon. We have the stars.’ ...

The Power of Song

Do you ever hear songs that trigger memories about your life....some emotional, some that make you giggle, some that make you regret, some that make you happy, some that make you long for the days gone by..... Either way, I love those songs that make me reminisce about a moment in my life. So, raise your glass to these songs and the memories they bring! They truly are the best!

Here's an excerpt of one I heard the other day that made me smile:

"Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you got 'til it's gone
They paved paradise, and put up a parking lot "

I won my office pool at work for the NCAA Tournament! It was soo close! There was a three-way tie for Florida and it came down to the final score. I guessed the total within one point! Now all the guys have to fork out some moolah to me! $120.00! My brother said I should treat myself to a steak dinner....sounds like a plan!
